Buying Guide

Ideal Properties want to make buying a property a stress-free and easy experience for everyone, so we have pulled together a buying guide to help both first time buyers and experienced buyers.

Working out what you can afford

Buying a property is a big step involving a substantial long-term financial commitment, so think hard about what you can afford. Consider your job and how much it pays out; ideally you want to be able to afford the home, pay the bills/upkeep costs and live comfortably/not worry about money and always being short on cash.

Getting a mortgage

It is vital to secure a mortgage with a lender before starting the searching process. Make sure you know all there is to know in order to choose the right mortgage for you. We have mortgage advice on our website too, so feel free to contact us if you have any queries.

Finding the ideal property

Everyone has their own wish-list of elements that make up their ideal property. From transport links to the number of bedrooms, we have a selection of properties to choose from. If you find a property that you like we can arrange a viewing. When you have a viewing try and picture yourself living there, you’ll be making a commitment to the home you buy so make sure that it fills all of your requirements!

Preparing for moving day

Moving is always a stressful time, but being organised is the trick to minimise your stress levels and making your new house feel like home in next to no time. Do some research and check reviews on moving companies and find the best one you can so that all of your belongings get there in a timely and safe manner. Don’t try and take everything at once – spread it out over a few days, this will allow for you to do any decorating or repairs required without you having to navigate through all of your misplaced possessions.
